February marks the beginning of Black History Month – an annual celebration that has existed since 1926. In 1909, The National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was founded by a group of concerned black and white citizens in New York City. The Good Neighbor Program recognizes the accomplishments by the many men & women of color. They are honored by a special Good Neighbor Magazine published this month and are free to consumers in all Met, Pioneer and Metropolitan City Market stores.
